Silver Dogwood
Description
Silver Dogwood is a hardy shrub valued for its variegated green and white foliage and striking bright red stems that provide winter interest. It features gray green leaves with irregular creamy white margins which often transitions to shades of purple, red, or rosy red in the fall. Its most distinctive feature is its vivid red bark, which becomes highly visible after the leaves drop in autumn. Late spring brings clusters of tiny white flowers, followed by ornamental white or blue white berries in mid summer that attract birds. It thrives in full sun to part shade and is highly adaptable, tolerating both dry conditions and standing water.
