Ginnala Flame Maple (Amur)
Description
Ginnala Flame Maple is a hardy, large shrub primarily valued for its brilliant scarlet red fall colour and adaptability to cold climates. Typically grows forming a rounded, dense crown that can be grown as a multi stemmed shrub or trained into a single trunk tree. It features glossy dark green, three lobed leaves that turn shades of orange, scarlet, and burgundy in the fall. This variety produces small, fragrant, creamy white flowers in early spring and are followed by showy red winged seeds that persist into late fall. Performs best in full sun to partial shade, but full sun ensures the most intense fall colour.
