Battleford Apple
Description
The Battleford Apple is a very hardy, medium sized fruit tree introduced from North Battleford, Saskatchewan, in 1945. Ideal for cold climates, the tree features showy, light scented white flowers with pink overtones in mid spring. From mid to late summer it produces medium to large, green yellow apples with a red blush and stripes. The flesh is crisp, slightly tart and creamy white, best suited for cooking, sauce, and fresh eating. Requires another compatable apple or crabapple tree variety nearby to produce fruit. For highest yield and best bloom, plant in full sun.
