Flowering Crab
Rinki Crabapple
Description
The Rinki Crabapple, is a compact, ornamental tree prized for its narrow growth habit and seasonal interest. It is particularly well suited for urban landscapes or smaller gardens where a vertical accent is desired. In early spring the tree produces an abundance of fragrant, bright pink buds that open into single, pale pink flowers before the leaves fully emerge. Flowers are followed by small, red crabapples that persist into the winter months, providing food for birds and wildlife. The medium green summer foliage typically turns a yellow or orange hue in the autumn. For optimal flowering and fruit production, plant in full sun, though it can tolerate part shade.
