Description
The Courageous Crabapple is an extremely hardy, seedless ornamental tree prized for its fragrant pink blossoms and multi season colour changes. Originally bred in Manitoba, it is one of the toughest crabapple varieties available, thriving in Zone 2 climates. It produces massive clusters of lilac pink fragrant blooms in mid spring that emerge from distinct red buds. This variety also features a striking colour progression, starting with bronze red or coppery new growth in spring, maturing to a rich green in summer, and turning vibrant yellow orange in the fall. This is a seedless variety that rarely produces fruit and if any fruit does appear, its typically not ornamentally significant. For best foliage colour and bloom, plant in full sun.
