Ure Pear
Description
Ure pear is a highly popular, cold hardy pear variety developed at the Morden Research Station in Manitoba. It is one of the hardiest pear varieties available, suitable for hardiness Zones 2 and 3, making it ideal for northern climates. It produces small, oblong, greenish yellow fruit with white flesh and is sweet, juicy, and crisp with a pleasant flavour. These pears are versatile and are commonly used for fresh eating, cooking, canning, and making preserves. This variety is considered self-sterile and requires a compatible pollinator nearby, such as Golden Spice to produce fruit. For maximum yield, plant in full sun.
