Toka Plum
Description
The Toka plum is a cold hardy hybrid fruit tree known for its exceptionally sweet, aromatic yellow flesh that tastes like candy. It produces medium sized, reddish bronze to crimson fruit with firm, juicy, apricot coloured flesh which typically ripens in late August to early September. This variety is also known for its rounded or upright, vase shaped growth habit and is considered one of the best pollinators for other Japanese and American hybrid plums due to its heavy pollen production. In addition, it is self-fertile, meaning it can produce fruit alone, though yields increase with a partner. For best yeilds, plant in full sun.
