Description

The Prairie Magic Apple is a highly popular, cold hardy variety specifically developed in Neepawa, Manitoba, to thrive in the harsh climates of the Canadian prairies. A cross between the Goodland and Mantet varieties, it is widely considered one of the best tasting apples for Zone 3, featuring a sweet, crisp texture that resembles a dessert apple. In mid spring, the tree produces showy clusters of lightly scented white flowers that emerge from pink buds. The apples are typically yellowish green with a bright crimson or red blush. The fruit is known for being large, sweet, and juicy with crisp white flesh and ripens from late August to mid September. Common uses include fresh eating, baking, cooking and juicing or can be stored in cold storage for 2-3 months. Requires another compatable apple or crabapple tree variety nearby to produce fruit. For highest yield and best bloom, plant in full sun.
