Odyssey Apple
Description
The Odyssey Apple is an extremely cold hardy Canadian variety known for its large fruit and sweet flavor, often compared to the Gala or Honeycrisp. Showy clusters of fragrant white flowers with pink overtones emerge from red buds in mid spring. This variety produces crisp, sweet apples that are typically yellowish green with a distinctive scarlet or red blush. The apples usually ripen in mid September and are noted for fresh eating, baking, cooking, and juice but also store well for approximately 2–3 months in refrigeration or cold storage. Requires another compatable apple or crabapple tree variety nearby to produce fruit. For highest yield and best bloom, plant in full sun.
