Norkent Apple

Description

The Norkent Apple is a high quality, exceptionally hardy variety specifically bred for northern climates and is capable of thriving in Zone 2. Showy clusters of lightly scented white flowers emerge from pink buds in mid spring producing fruit described as having a sweet, almost caramelized taste with little to no acidity. The flesh is white, firm, and very crunchy. The fruit is large, round and greenish yellow with prominent red or scarlet streaks. This variety typically ripens in late August to early September making it excellent for fresh eating, baking, and juicing and is a surprisingly good keeper for an early variety, staying crisp for up to 5 months in cold storage. Requires another compatable apple or crabapple tree variety nearby to produce fruit. For highest yield and best bloom, plant in full sun.
